2013 and 2014 annual report design and production

CONTEXT

Resolutely focused on the future and emboldened by its new brand strategy, the MPA sought to underscore the Port of Montréal’s role as a world-class commercial hub and a driving force in the transport logistics chain.

PROCESS

Dyade fully understood the Port of Montréal’s key role within the community and as a leader in Québec’s economic development. Dyade therefore leveraged these themes to develop two unique designs through an original format, which included an offprint used as a promotional tool.

RESULT

These annual reports’ original content presentation and visuals showcased the Port of Montréal’s innovative side, thereby enabling it to highlight its role as a driving force in the economy and present itself as a model of best practices with regard to the environment and neighbouring communities.

Logo and style guide

CONTEXT

The Montréal Port Authority sought to streamline and update its logo, while preserving the Port’s core symbol, namely a ship carving waters, thereby forming the “M” in Montréal. The logo’s bilingual nature, which combined the Port’s symbol with its two official names (in French and English), made its use problematic.

PROCESS

Dyade refreshed the logo using a typography that gave it a more modern look. The ship’s image was streamlined and integrated to the Port’s signature, in order to create a unified logo. The logo’s new version is bilingual, with the accent in “Montréal” calling to mind the city’s French heritage. A style guide was also created and includes standards for usage on letterhead, signage and vehicles.

RESULT

A consistent brand image enabling the Port to hold its own against its international competitors.
